Are you a curious equestrian?
We all want the same thing: a partnership based on trust.
But in an industry full of conflicting advice, finding that trust is harder than it should be. We are told to be leaders. We are told to demand respect. We are given methods that promise results but often leave us feeling uneasy.
Curious Equestrian exists because we had that same uneasy feeling.
We realised that good intentions aren't enough. To truly do right by our horses, we need to look past tradition and habit. We need to look at the evidence.
We are not here to act as gurus. We are here to bridge the gap between the science lab and the tack room. We sit down with the researchers and veterinarians rewriting the textbooks, but also the trainers and owners who are actually applying those chapters in the arena.
Who We Are
We are not experts telling you how to ride. We are curious equestrians asking why.
Theresa | Producer and Founder She is the voice of the "Thinking Rider." As 'horse mum' to Mr Giles (and dog mum to Willow and Oz), her role is to ensure we never get lost in the academic weeds. She is the one who stops the recording to ask: "Okay, but what does that actually mean for us on a rainy Tuesday?"
Anna Louise | The Interviewer A former BBC presenter turned sanctuary founder. Anna Louise brings broadcast-level rigour to our conversations. She knows how to get to the heart of a story and isn't afraid to politely challenge a vague answer. She ensures every guest explains the "why" behind the "how." She is 'horse mum' to Winnie, Diesel and Wilson.
The Principle We stopped asking "How do I get my horse to do this?" And started asking "Why is my horse doing this?"
